MARKS: None on outfits
DATE OF PRODUCTION: mid 1960s
CHARACTERISTICS OF DOLL: Doll is vinyl with painted eyes and joints at shoulders, hips and neck, made by Deluxe Reading.. Doll had several high-quality boxed outfits available, complete with accessories, and several "rooms" of furniture available, including a bedroom set, kitchenette, beauty parlour and school room.
PRICE: Outfits $30 TO $40 NRFB. With slight box wear, this particular NRFB outfit would be closer to $30.
COMMENTS: When this doll went out of production, there was significant "back stock" and thus there are many of these charming outfits available NRFB for collectors. The outfits are quality, and are a good bargain.
MARKET REPORT: The NRFB outfits have held their price well during the first few years of the 200s, but loose Penny Brites and Penny Brite clothing go for only a few dollars on eBay or in doll stores.
GUIDE COMMENT: One of my best Christmas doll memories was receiving under my Christmas tree at the age of 5 Penny, her school room, beauty parlour, and kitchenette, and several outfits. WHAT a Christmas. She became the "sister" to the #4 Barbie, Tammy and Pepper I had received previously.
