CHARACTERISTICS OF DOLL: Gene is designed by Mel Odom. Doll
is dressed in dark green woolen uniform with khaki shirt, necktie,
"leather" purse, lace up shoes, garrison cap, hose and earrings.
PRICE: $60 to $100 on eBay for MIB and NRFB dolls.
COMMENTS: Outfit and doll can each be bought separately from people who customize dolls. Also available separately is a USO Accessory Package including a 48-star flag, trunk, travel stickers, USO sign, microphone, letters from GIs, and miniature "autographed" pin-ups of Gene. Gene is the very popular fashion doll introduced in 1995 and currently still in production.
MARKET REPORT: The bottom has fallen out of the Gene doll market in the last 5 years, with too much supply and not enough demand. USO, however, has done better than the general Gene trend for value.
